Joining Jotun Dubai was my first international assignment. I had a lot of apprehensions about it but Jotun made me feel really at home. What I find remarkable about this company is the family environment with the professional approach. Jotun is the only company where I have experienced the core values of care and respect; these values are adhered to in the true spirit of the words.

Professionally it has been a very enriching experience, as the company has provided me with many new learning experiences and opportunities to travel to exciting places. This is mainly thanks to my empowering manager who truly represents the values of Jotun.

One of the best things about my work in the Marine segment in Jotun Dubai is that my tasks are split between office work and going out to meet customers in their own environment, in ship yards. You never get bored in this job, and even though the work load may be high from time to time, we always manage the challenges as part of a team. Since joining Jotun I have made lots of new friends from all over the world, who are actually more like a second family now. I strongly recommend Jotun as an employer and have encouraged several friends to apply for positions within the company.

What first attracted me to Jotun as an employer was the culture in the company, particularly with regards to team spirit and the general understanding amongst both employees and managers alike, that cooperation is the key to success. I was also attracted by the interesting and challenging development plan that Jotun has in China. As a brand manager for Interior decorative paints, I see great potential in introducing and developing Jotun interior brands within China’s challenging growing market. Looking to the future, I see myself growing with the business to become a more mature and professional manager in Jotun China.

I had been aware of Jotun long time before I applied for a position, and was mainly attracted by the company's reputation for providing top-quality services to customers. I was deeply convinced that Jotun could offer me a promising career if I were to join. There are a variety of internal training programmes available to you, ranging from international opportunities to working skills and career development. I learn something valuable every day, and find it quite enjoyable to develop on a personal level at the same time as I develop my career.

I am now working for the drydocking marine support work to provide necessary or required support to other departments or personnel involved in the drydock business. During the coming years, I expect to be more professionally cultivated in the drydock business by acquiring more knowledge and experience on work flow in relation to sales, technical services and customer service co-ordination. I know that achieving this will not be easy but Jotun’s team spirit in moving forward together makes me believe it's a dream that will soon become a reality.

As a student, my ambition was to work in communication and marketing at a high level. When I applied for a position at Jotun I saw the opportunity to fulfil my career ambition in a company that was truly a global player. For the most part I act as senior communication advisor to the Jotun group. My role involves implementing communication plans and activities at a corporate level, such as media management and issue management. I am also Editor in Chief for Jotun's global internal magazine.

Working in a corporate staff role allows me to deal with a wide range of complex tasks across the whole organisation. Jotun offers a wide range of career opportunities and in the coming years I believe I will still have a challenging and internationally exposed position at Jotun.

During my studies I was very uncertain about where and with what I wanted to work. However, I decided that my "dream job" would be one in which I was able to use and develop my expertise within chemistry without being "stuck" in the laboratory; it would be a versatile job where I could gain insight into other areas of a company. I also wanted to work for an international company. After two years at Jotun, I realised that this company actually fulfilled all of these elements. I use my chemistry when developing new anti-corrosive primers and when working with raw material suppliers but we also work closely with our marketing team, purchasing department and production site. I am not only gaining insight into R&D work but also into other significant areas of the company. During my time here at Jotun I was also given the opportunity to take up a four-week stay at our R&D centre in South-Korea. I found it extremely interesting and educational working closely with such a different culture and to be able to witness the enormous industry and potential that lies in Asian countries.

In my experience, Jotun is a company that provides challenging and interesting tasks and lots of opportunities. The company is growing fast on all continents in an extremely interesting market and it is great to have the chance to be part of this growth.
